Security Guard Assessment

Each Canadian province has a similar requirement for licensure as a security guard, and while some training is involved, it is not practical and is never reinforced. We have observed many occasions on which, with no reinforcement and practical training, guards will:

• Fail to report obvious evidence of suspicious activity on patrol
• Do perfunctory rounds in high visibility areas to appear busy while missing the low visibility areas that really need checking
• Do only a perfunctory check of the area after an alarm is set off without clearing the secured area
• Remain in one secluded area of the building all shift without effectively patrolling it
• Take a nap
• Fail to properly identify and verify individuals found within secured areas
• Hold open doors and allow our team entry into the facility without verifying who we are first

We test your guard force by simulating an intrusion, to ascertain how your guards will respond so that deficiencies can be corrected before a real intrusion. We then assist you to update your service agreements with contracted guards, provide usable documentation and training to guards, and put controls in place to ensure ongoing effectiveness.
